Bloodhound begin tests at Hakskeen Pan, in the Northern Cape of South Africa

Wheels arrive in South Africa. Although there is still some way to go to get the Bloodhound car finished the wheels have been to South Africa for initial testing. Bampton Packaging was asked to pack the wheels so they could be sent to South Africa to undergo testing before the annual rains arrived. The tight schedule meant that the wheels were packed in Nottingham and then flown to South Africa. The Hakskeen desert has never had a land speed record attempt and the wheels themselves are of a revolutionary design so testing the wheels on the actual track is an import stage in the development process. Seeing how the surface behaves with the wheels will help determine the exact profile on the Bloodhound car and the testing has led to design changes. See the attached link to the Bloodhound website for more details. http://www.bloodhoundssc.com/news/mad-max-hakskeen-nov-2012
